I have had the most awesome writing day today, which is probably why this post is going up a little late. I’ve been too busy writing new words for my manuscript to remember to write a blog post.
Today the words just flowed out of my fingers without much effort at all, and I’d written 3000 words by lunch time. After I’d eaten, I took my laptop outside because it was a glorious sunny day and continued to write. By three o’clock I had 5000 words written.
Bliss.
I think every writer needs a good writing day every now and again. A day when the story flows, the imagination is firing and everything seems easy. They counter balance the days when nothing you write seems any good and it’s just so hard to write 100 words let alone 1000.
My new manuscript, which will be book 1 in a series about three sisters, has been humming along quite nicely so far. I’ve hit the halfway mark after three weeks of writing. I’m hoping to finish the first draft before I get the edits for Under the Covers, so they I can let it breathe before I start editing. It’s great to put the manuscript aside for a couple of weeks and work on something else before I start to edit so that I get a little bit of distance from it.
Anyway, here’s hoping for another flowing writing day tomorrow!
