I’ve got a couple of book binding projects which I’ve been working on for a while. One is a spell book, which I started some time last year, but I wasn’t quite sure how to do the cover. Then after I’d figured out some options, I was a little scared to take the plunge. My uncle gave me some leather to use and I was a little worried I’d stuff up the whole thing.

When I first glued the leather on to the cover I didn’t have enough hands so cue frantic calling to my husband to come and help me press the leather into all of the different indents. Between the two of use we managed to get the leather stuck down. Then it was just a matter of waiting until the glue was dry and sticking it all together. I’m pretty pleased with the result.
It’s an A4 spell book with thick white pages ready to take any spells!
I’ve also dabbled with a new planner for my weekly tasks. My old planner wasn’t quite thick enough for the year so I thought I’d have a bit of a play. I bought a ring binder from ebay and then made the cover the way I make the covers for my books. It worked out quite well. I had been planning on putting a clasp on it so I could close it, but I forgot to put the magnet in before I covered it, so I went without. It does have a pen holder though. 🙂

My next project is a guest registry book which I started an age ago, but I wanted to find some fabric I can put through my printer, so I could put a saying on the front. I’ll have to have a look into it and see what options I can find.
What kind of hobbies do you have? I’d love to hear about them so leave me a comment below.
